Their mechanical arms have a stark contrast too. Sevika’s Shimmer-infused arm contains a hidden sword, while Renata’s arm is more complex and advanced. Her lore is yet to imply any direct relationship with Sevika, but Renata grew up in the sump level of Zaun, the deepest level of the undercity. One of Renata’s official voice lines is “Progress comes at a price that others are unwilling to pay,” which is almost a direct Arcane quote from Silco. Throughout Arcane Season 1, Silco talked about the distinctions between strength and weakness.
At the beginning of the series, Silco convinces Deckard to drink Shimmer for the boy to gain power.
“I’d like to let you in on a very important secret I learned when I was about your age, boy,” said Silco to Deckard. “You see, power, real power doesn’t come to those who were born strongest or fastest or smartest. No. It comes to those who will do anything to achieve it.”
However, Renata is so much more complicated than Silco. She wants to improve the lives of her clients as soon as possible, just like the ultimate goal of Jayce and Viktor in the series, who desired to use Hextech for the advancement of Piltover.
Renata shares the same ideals with Jayce and Viktor. What sets her apart from the two is her cunningness and willingness to fight anyone who gets in her way.
