After missing out on two M-series, Vietnam will finally have a representative at the M4 World Championship.
MDH Esports put the region back in the biggest international Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tournament of the year, after an intense five-game grand final showdown against IDONOTSLEEP Esports at the M4 Mekong Qualifier on Sunday.
This is only the second time Vietnam has qualified for the M-Series. The last time was at the M1 World Championship, where Vec Fantasy Main notched a 2-1 record in the group stage before being eliminated by Sunsparks in the first round of the lower bracket playoffs.

MDH Esports survive a five-game thriller to win M4 Mekong Qualifier
In the group stage, MDH Esports and IDONOTSLEEP dominated their respective groups with 3-0 records. It was the same story for MDH in the upper bracket playoffs, where they took down Nightmare Esports and Wawa Gaming to qualify for the grand final.
IDONOTSLEEP had a much more difficult journey. After a 1-2 loss against Wawa Gaming in the upper bracket, they had to work their way through the lower bracket to secure a grand final slot.
It was a thrilling best-of-five grand final with the series going down to the wire. With both teams tied at 2-2, IDONOTSLEEP went for a teamfight-focused draft of Claude, Paquito, and Yve. MDH answered back with an equally offensive-heavy lineup composed of Pharsa, Karina, and Popol and Kupa.
Both teams were neck-to-neck 10 minutes into the match. However, IDNS ZanRi’s Jawhead made a crucial mistake at the 11-minute mark after overextending and getting caught by Grock‘s Wild Charge and Pharsa’s Feathered Airstrike combo.
Phumin “Loysss” Inthachot’s Paquito and ThirtyThr33’s Claude also perished after trying to turn around the situation by initiating a team fight right after ZanRi died.
The remaining two members retreated, but Myzmink’s Yve was caught by Grock’s Guardian Barrier, resulting in another kill for MDH Esports. With only one member defending the base, MDH rushed to the midlane base turret and the crystal to win the series.
