No matter how down your day might be, it’s difficult not to smile after watching the antics of the Forger family—and Japan agrees.

Genre-spanning hit Spy x Family is the most popular show in Japan for the 12th week running, according to the GEM Standard, a weekly viewership analysis from Japanese data company GEM Partners.

Of the 7,000 people men and women from 15 to 69 years old, Spy x Family remains the top draw on their streaming platforms. The data, covering July 9 to 15, showed that the anime beat out shows like Amazon’s The Bachelorette Japan and classic mystery series Detective Conan in terms of viewership.

The show’s enduring longevity, even one month after its finale, bodes well for fans. The series is already a serious contender for the best animes of the year, and we would love to see more of the lovable Forgers on our screen.

Don’t fret, Spy x Family will come back in October

Thankfully, both fans in Japan and us don’t need to wait long for more Spy x Family. The series will come back in October for a second season, taking the show in what seems to be a drastic tonal shift.

Loid Forger —codename Twilight, one of the finest spies of Westalis—is tasked with stopping a terrorist attack. But there should still be plenty of family-friendly fun from the oddball group, along with the addition of what seems to be a clairvoyant dog.

If you can’t wait that long, Spy x Family is based on the manga by Tatsuya Endo. You can read the first and last three chapters of the officially licensed English adaptation by VIZ here. Gain access to the rest of the title with a Shonen Jump membership.
