RRQ Hoshi is on top once again after winning Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Indonesia Season 9 (MPL ID Season 9) yesterday.
The team took down MPL ID defending champions ONIC Esports in the grand final 4-1 in a best-of-seven series to secure their fourth league title, the most any pro MLBB team has accomplished in Indonesia.
RRQ Hoshi prove their strength this MPL ID Season 9
In the upper bracket, RRQ Hoshi first faced off against EVOS Legends in the second round of the tournament. Winning the first two games in the best-of-five, EVOS Legends took the lead in the series.
However, RRQ maintained composure, and pulled an incredible reverse sweep to come out victorious in the El Clásico matchup all thanks to Schevenko “Skylar” David Tendean stepping up in the gold lane on marksmen Moskov and Brody in games three and four.
Up against defending champions ONIC Esports in the next round, RRQ narrowly defeated their opponents 3-2 to qualify for the grand final. The king of kings went with a unique three-tank lineup in the decider, which shut down ONIC Esports’ unique Helcurt jungle and a Aldous gold lane strategy.
RRQ’s lineup was effective, for ONIC couldn’t burst any hero down despite their high-damage lineup. In the end, RRQ Hoshi accumulated a whopping 24 kills to ONIC’s seven.
It was a rematch once again in the grand final against ONIC Esports after they took down Aura Fire in the lower bracket, 3-1. In a perfect display of skill, RRQ Hoshi put an end to the series with a 4-1 beating, only dropping the second game due to a miscalculated team fight in the late game.
Albert “Alberttt” Neilsen Iskandar was laser focused in taking objectives on all five games, while the remaining squad rotated to protect and set up team fights for him to excel.
With the win, RRQ secures its fourth title, in addition to MPL ID Season 6, MPL ID Season 5, and MPL ID Season 2.

Clayyy stepped up at the MPL ID Season 9 playoffs
Deden “Clayyy” Muhammad Nurhasan, the team’s midlaner, was hailed the most valuable player in the grand final after his spectacular performance against ONIC Esports. This is also his first time winning a title in MPL ID ever since he entered the league six seasons ago.
Aside from taking home the lion’s share of the US$300,000 prize pool, RRQ Hoshi will also be going to Malaysia next month to represent Indonesia at the MSC 2022, along with ONIC Esports.
