Esports organization Echo Fox will be leaving the LCS soon.
The organization has decided to sell its current LCS spot to a new team, according to a tweet by the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS). This is in compliance with the demanded corrective action by the MOBA game’s esports league.
The new group has not yet been officially named, but the LCS revealed that they will be negotiating with them this week.
US-based entertainment company Kroenke Sports & Entertainment was reported to be the buyer of the available slot, according to an article by ESPN. They have “agreed to a deal that will see it acquire Echo Fox’s League of Legends Championship Series slot for $30.25 million”.
Earlier in May 2019, LCS Commissioner Chris Greeley issued an official warning to Echo Fox following racist statements made by a shareholder inside the organization. Echo Fox founder Rick Fox had considered stepping down over the issue.
