The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Philippines Season 9 (MPL PH Season 9) is less than a month away, and Moonton has announced a new rule that will make this season’s playoffs more competitive and exciting.

The new rule was announced on MPL Philippines‘ Twitter page, revealing the changes that will be implemented in the upcoming season.
The first and third-seeded team during the regular season will get the chance to pick which team will face off against each other in the first two games of the playoffs.
This puts more weight on performing well in regular season, for getting the chance to pick which squad will battle it out in the playoffs is a huge advantage. In theory, seeded teams might be able to eliminate their biggest threat early on in the playoffs.

Coaching staff changes at MPL PH Season 9
Apart from the bracket, Moonton will also be implementing a number of tweaks to the league’s coaching staff system.
Three assistant coaches will be allowed per team, and one assistant coach can now join the head coach during the drafting phase.
An assistant coach can also substitute as the head coach whenever necessary.
This is a welcome change for all teams, considering that every team in MPL PH has more than one coaching staff.
