Many Indonesian teams have expressed interest in importing Filipino players for the upcoming MPL ID Season 10. After all, the region has won the last three major MLBB tournaments, namely, the M3 World Championship, the 31st SEA Games, and the recently concluded MSC 2022.
ONIC Esports made the first move after acquiring Kairi “Kairi” Rayosdelsol and Coach Denver “Yeb” Miranda from its sister team, ONIC PH.
EVOS Legends also made it clear that they are opening its doors for Filipino players next season. In a Facebook post last month, head coach Bjorn “Zeys” Ong said he is specifically looking for Filipino players to fill their EXP lane and roam positions.
However, EVOS Legends EXP laner Gustian “REKT” expressed a different point of view in a livestream last week.

REKT states he won’t compete at MPL ID Season 10 if there’s a PH import on the team
The 25-year-old was playing ranked while answering questions about EVOS Legends on his livestream when a viewer asked him if there will be a Filipino import on the team.
REKT stated that changes have already been made. “I don’t want to play if there are Filipino players. I have pride, Indo Pride,” he added.
The rivalry between the Philippines and Indonesia has been a focal point in competitive MLBB for years now. Out of the 13 big international tournaments in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang since 2017, a PH team won seven of them, while Indonesia won five.
This won’t be the first time a Filipino is part of EVOS Legends. Before Bren Esports, veteran coach Francis “Duckey” Glindro was part of the coaching staff for the white tigers during MPL ID Season 4. Alongside Zeys, they led EVOS Legends to win MPL ID Season 4 and the inaugural M1 World Championship.
EVOS Legends have yet to announce their official roster for MPL ID Season 10.
