G2 Esports has signed Johan “Meddo” Renbjörk Lundborg and Aaro “hoody” Peltokangas to its Valorant roster ahead of the VCT 2022 season.
The European organization also added Daniil “pipsoN” Meshcheryakov as the team’s new coach, as they look to improve their roster for the second year of the Valorant Champions Tour.
G2 Esports adds Meddo, hoody, and pipsoN for the upcoming VCT 2022 season
G2’s VCT 2021 season ended after they finished third in the EMEA Last Chance Qualifier, failing to qualify for Valorant Champions. The European organization then decided to part ways with the team’s in-game leader, Jose Luis “koldamenta” Aranguren Herrero on December 1, 2021.
The European organization consequently benched Wassim “keloqz” Cista on December 23, 2021. With two roster spots open, along with a coaching position that needed to be filled, G2 Esports picked up Giants Gaming’s trio of Meddo, hoody, and pipsoN to complete its roster.

Giants Gaming first signed Meddo and hoody on January 16, 2021, as the centerpiece of its roster for the VCT 2021 season. The team kept making player changes throughout the season after middling results in the European region.
Giants Gaming eventually fell to G2 Esports in the VCT EMEA Stage 3 Challengers Playoffs, which led to the organization parting ways with the trio.

G2’s new squad is set to debut during the qualifiers of the first EMEA Challengers stage of the VCT 2022 season. This is scheduled to begin in mid-January next year.
