The playing field continues to be whittled down at VCT Stage 1 Masters Reykjavik 2022. The winner will walk away with US$200,000 and 750 VCT circuit points, the latter of which will go toward qualification for Valorant Champions at the end of the year.

The Guard and Team Liquid have already been eliminated in major upsets, leaving just six teams left standing. For the first time in VCT history, each of the top six teams is representing a different region.

The playoffs run from April 15 to 25. Asian teams Paper Rex and Zeta Division have impressed with a deep tournament run, while Korean juggernaut DRX is looking like a possible title contender with well-coordinated set plays and stellar utility usage.

OpTic Gaming are North America’s last hope, and they look like a formidable force with Jaccob “yay” Whiteaker and Victor “Victor” Wong firing on all cylinders.

Meanwhile, LOUD have shown that all the hype around Brazil’s superteam is well-deserved. They are set to clash with OpTic in the upper bracket final on April 23.
