The first savage in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Indonesia Season 9 (MPL ID Season 9) was achieved by the defending champions.
ONIC Esports’ gold laner Calvin “CW” Winata pulled off a clutch savage in the last minute against Geek Fam on Miya, and became the first this MPL ID Season 9 to achieve the feat. With the victory, he put his team on top of the standings at the end of the third week.
CW’s surprise Miya pick in Week 3 of MPL ID Season 9
Up by one in the series against Geek Fam, the MPL ID Season 8 playoffs MVP locked Miya in the second game to face off against Bima Putra “Schwann” Sejati’s Beatrix in the gold lane.
CW struggled in the early game against the early damage of Beatrix. What’s more, Rupture’s Khufra was constantly ganking him in the gold lane. However, the other members of ONIC Esports were succeeding in their respective lanes, and the team led 8-1 in kills at the fifth-minute mark.
ONIC Esports maintained its dominance, eventually securing the early Lord at the 10-minute mark. The yellow hedgehog squad immediately ran it down in all lanes and successfully pushed the inner towers.
With five members of Geek Fam defending the base, Nicky “Kiboyy” Fernando flickered in and used Minoan Fury to stun four members of Geek Fam. This initiation led to the easy pick-off by Miya, killing all five members before to secure the series 2-0.

ONIC Esports ends Week 3 with a dominant performance
With the win, ONIC Esports is now on top of the standings with 4-1 record, above Aura Fire and RRQ Hoshi.
