The kings of Korea have come out swinging at Masters Reykjavik 2022. In their opening match against Japan’s Zeta Division, DRX put their foot on the pedal and did not let up, cruising to a statement 2-0 victory with 13-2 and 13-3 map wins on Icebox and Haven.
Yu “BuZz“ Byung-chul also returned to Jett on Icebox, despite not playing her at all in VCT Korea Stage 1 Challengers. On the Korean duelist, DRX BuZz showed just how Jett’s kit can be used to quickly take space on site and execute fast plants that opponents least expect.
BuZz had the spike down within 13 seconds of the round starting, leaving Zeta Division scrambling to respond. As it turns out, you shouldn’t always throw the spike to the Sage on your team.

DRX BuZz shows how to execute a fast plant on Icebox’s B site as Jett
On attack, DRX went for a fast mid rush on the third round. Goo “Rb” Sang-min walled off middle as Sage, allowing BuZz to sprint under tube and down B Orange with his knife out.
He then threw Jett’s Cloudburst smoke onto the second floor of the site container, updrafted, and dashed into it for cover. BuZz then planted the spike on the right edge, and retreated to kitchen to play the post-plant.
By this time, Rb and Kim “stax” Gu-taek had already run up tube and into kitchen as well, securing the area for DRX. Kim “Zest” Gi-seok was watching mid from B Orange, in anticipation of Zeta Division players breaking the Sage wall. Meanwhile, Kim “MaKo” Myeong-kwan held the flank for any players rotating via attacker spawn.
With control of both kitchen and B Orange, DRX effectively shut down Zeta Division’s 5v5 retake attempt, as they had no choice but to funnel through narrow choke points into the DRX meat grinder.
DRX will play their next match against the winner of Fnatic versus Ninjas in Pyjamas on April 12, 11 p.m. GMT+8 | 8 a.m. PDT. You can check out the upcoming schedule for Stage 1 Masters Reykjavik here.
