Japanese organization Zeta Division is looking to build its own Game Changers team. Applications are now open for female players, it announced on Twitter, and the team will take part in the expanded female league set to begin in the summer.

Zeta rose to global prominence in April, after a fairytale run to a top-three finish at Masters Reykjavik 2022.

It was a historic performance for a Japanese team, a fitting culmination to a series of heartbreaking exits at previous international LAN events.

Zeta’s entry into VCT Game Changers comes on the heels of Riot Games’ announcement. The Game Changers Championship is headed to Berlin, featuring two teams each from North America and EMEA, and one team from Brazil, Latin America, APAC, and East Asia.

In a press release, the organization set out its requirements for applicants. For starters, they must be ranked Immortal or above and live in Japan. The ability to communicate in Japanese is also a must.

On top of that, Zeta is looking for specific qualities, such as being able to “accept and comply” with instructions from coaches and other staff. Media savvy is also another important quality, with the organization citing “being able to pay attention to what you say on Twitter” as another requirement.

Applicants who have passed the document screening process will be notified within 15 business days. They will then have to go through the second stage of the selection process, which will include interviews and tryouts.

Zeta has set its sights on the top. The team’s goal is to win the Game Changers Championship, so it is looking to recruit only the very best in the region.
