Cloud9 has announced that they’ve decided to disband their Korean Valorant division.
The news comes a week after the team played in Korea’s First Strike tournament, where they finished in third/fourth place. They lost to powerhouse team Vision Strikers in the semifinals.
Despite Cloud9 being the only team to take a map win against Vision Strikers throughout the First Strike Korea tournament, they were also handed a devastating 0-13 loss in the same series.

Cloud9’s Valorant roster was first announced in late August, consisting of Park “Bazzi” Jun-ki, Kim “DoYa” Do-gyeong, Yoo “Moothie” Seung-woo, Byeon “Munchkin” Sang-beom, and Kang “Try” Tae-wook, with Yoon “Autumn” Eu-teum as their coach.
The team then reworked its roster right before First Strike Korea started, with Try, DoYa, and Moothie replaced by Son “xeta” Seon-ho, Lee “Hate” Ye-hun, Yu “BuZz” Byung-chul respectively, as well as new head coach Yu “Pavane” Hyeon-sang.
However, with the First Strike tournament series now over, and all teams looking ahead to Valorant’s Champions Tour, set to begin in January next year, organizations are preparing to bolster their rosters.
Cloud9 has yet to make an announcement regarding their return in Korean Valorant’s competitive scene, but they could be gearing up to put together a squad that can dethrone Vision Strikers’ 44-0 tournament series win streak.
