Legendary former SKT T1 head coach Kim “kkOma” Jeong-gyun has been chosen by the Korea e-Sports Association (KeSPA) to be the head coach of the Korea League of Legends team at the upcoming Hangzhou Asian Games.
Currently the athletic director at DWG KIA, the 36-year-old will step back into his role as head coach for the Asian Games, where he could potentially be reunited with T1 mid laner Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok if he is selected for the national team.
kkOma previously won three World Championships with SKT T1 before moving to DWG KIA at the end of 2020. He then led the organization to a second-place finish at Worlds 2021, in addition to winning LCK Summer 2021 along the way.

kkOma becomes head coach of the Korea Asian Games League of Legends team
The 2022 Asian Games will be held in Hangzhou, China, from September 10 to September 25. For the first time, esports will be recognized as a medal event, after it made its debut as a demonstration sport in 2018.
Korea will be looking for revenge in Hangzhou this year, after China, led by star bot laner Jian “Uzi” Zi-hao, took home the gold medal in 2018.
National tryouts will be held later in the year to select the players who will represent Korea.
