The upcoming VCT Ascension Americas 2023 tournament will be held in São Paulo, Brazil, from June 30 to July 9, Riot Games announced.
Six elite teams from the Challengers Leagues in the Americas region will compete in a LAN event hosted by Riot Games to determine which team will secure promotion to the prestigious VCT Americas League next year.
The competition will feature two teams from Brazil and North America, as well as one team each from LATAM South and LATAM North.
VCT Ascension Americas 2023 dates and format explained
The group stage will be held from June 30 to July 3, during which the six qualified teams will be divided into two groups of three.
All teams will compete in a single round-robin to determine the seeding for the double-elimZination playoff bracket.
The playoffs run from July 3 to 9. The winner will join the franchised 10 VCT Americas League teams next year.
All matches in the playoffs will be decided through the best-of-three series, while the grand final will be a best-of-five match.
At the time of writing, the participating teams for Ascension are yet to be determined.
