The Hylian Shield is a historic item in the world of Zelda, and it’s obtainable once again in the new Tears of the Kingdom game.
Paired with the Master Sword, it’s the best duo to use in the game, so it’s definitely worth grabbing for yourself. Lucky for you, this guide is going to tell you how to do that.

The Hylian Shield is the best shield in Tears of the Kingdom
Whether you want to grab it now or later, the prestigious shield can be found at the docks in Hyrule Castle.
To reach the docks, you’ll want to get underneath the northwestern portion of the castle. If you’ve unlocked the Serutabomac Shrine, which gives you the added benefit of being able to teleport to the castle from that point forward, it’ll be quick and easy.
If you use the shrine, you’ll just move down to the lower portion of the castle.
Once you come across an area from which water is flowing, you’ll need to get inside and use the climbing ability or your paraglider. You’ll use either to get around the docks so you can head up the stone stairs.
There you’ll come in contact with a creature you can choose to fight or run past, the choice is yours.
From there, you’ll see the target, a bunch of torches, and a beacon. If you light the beacon, a hidden chest will appear and the shield will be at your fingertips.
However, you can also get there relatively easily via the Castle Town Prison. From there, you’ll head toward the water until you see a dock and a boat.
You’ll just have to cross the water until you see another dock and a cave. Enter the cave, which will take you to the docks and the inner docks.
From there, you’ll head up the stairs, see the same creature, and follow the same steps.
