The VCT Korea Stage 2 Challengers playoffs are set to kick off after four weeks of group stage matches. Six teams have advanced to the final stage of the competition, where they will battle for Korea’s single spot at Masters Copenhagen.
It was business as usual for DRX. The kings of Korea won all seven of their group stage matches, proving beyond a doubt that they are still the best team in Korea. Kim “stax” Gu-taek and the boys in blue did not even drop a single map in the group stage, securing an upper bracket semifinals berth in the playoffs.
On Sla2ers and DWG KIA finished right behind DRX with 5-2 records. However, since On Sla2ers beat DWG KIA 2-1 in Week 3, Park “Bazzi” Jun-ki and the rest of his squad secured the head-to-head advantage and took the second upper bracket semifinals spot in the playoffs.
DWG KIA will start their playoffs run in the upper bracket quarterfinals, alongside Spear Gaming, World Game Star, and Maru Gaming, three squads that finished with 3-4 records in the group stage.
